Why does the kit use Carbon Steel blocks instead of standard cast ones?
We include Carbon Steel Swivel Blocks because they offer superior durability and shock resistance compared to cast iron. Recovery operations often involve sudden shock loads; carbon steel handles this stress much better. Additionally, the 360° swivel head allows the block to self-align with the pull, preventing dangerous side-loading during complex rollover scenarios.
Why are there two different types of lifting slings included?
Different parts of the casualty vehicle require different rigging approaches:
- 8T Round Slings (Soft): Perfect for "choking" around axles or chassis rails because they are flexible and grip tightly without slipping.
- 12T Flat Slings (10m): Designed for reach. Their 10-metre length allows you to throw the strap over high trailers or containers to create the leverage points needed for a rollover.
