The Rydam 5 Tonne Flat Duplex Webbing Sling is the professional choice for heavy industrial lifting. Coded in international Red, this robust sling provides a 5,000kg lifting capacity, making it essential for moving heavy plant machinery, large steel sections, and concrete products.

Engineered for Strength

  • 5 Tonne Capacity: Fully dyed in the international standard Red for instant 5,000kg Working Load Limit (WLL) identification.
  • Heavy Duty Duplex: Features a thick, double-layer (Duplex) polyester construction that offers superior strength and shock absorption compared to lighter slings.
  • Wide Load Distribution: The wider webbing profile helps distribute the weight of heavy loads, preventing damage to the load's surface which is critical when lifting finished equipment or pre-cast concrete.
  • Safety Compliant: Manufactured to BS EN 1492-1 with a 7:1 safety factor, ensuring reliability for critical lifts.

What does the "Red" colour code mean?

In the lifting industry, Red always signifies a 5 Tonne Working Load Limit. This universal code (BS EN 1492-1) allows safety officers and operators to verify the sling's capacity from a distance, reducing the risk of overloading.

Can I use this sling to lift 10 Tonnes?

Yes, but only in a Basket Hitch. If you pass the sling under the load and attach both eyes to the hook (creating a 'U' shape), the capacity doubles to 10,000kg. However, you must ensure the load is stable and the sling angle is vertical (0-7°).

Is this sling safer than a chain?

For fragile or finished loads, yes. A 5-tonne chain is heavy, hard, and can scratch the load. This polyester sling offers the same 5T lifting power but is soft and flexible, protecting the surface of expensive machinery or painted steelwork.

How do I know if the sling is damaged?

Inspect it before every use. Look for cuts, snags, or chemical burns. If you see the internal core fibres (often a different colour) or if the blue data label is missing or unreadable, do not use the sling. It must be discarded immediately.
