2 Tonne Flat Duplex Webbing Sling (Green)
The Rydam 2 Tonne Flat Duplex Webbing Sling is an essential lifting tool for workshops, construction sites, and recovery vehicles. Coded in international Green, this sling doubles the capacity of the standard purple strap, offering a 2,000kg Safe Working Load while remaining lightweight and flexible.
Engineered for Durability
- 2 Tonne Capacity: Fully dyed in the international standard Green for instant 2,000kg Working Load Limit (WLL) identification.
- Duplex Construction: Manufactured from a double layer of high-tenacity polyester (PES), providing excellent abrasion resistance and a longer service life than single-ply alternatives.
- Load Protection: The soft, non-marring webbing grips the load securely without damaging painted surfaces, polished metal, or fragile cargo.
- Certified Safety: Strictly manufactured to BS EN 1492-1 with a 7:1 safety factor and heavy-duty reinforced eyes to resist hook wear.
What is the difference between the Green and Purple slings?
The colour indicates capacity. Green is 2 Tonne, while Purple is 1 Tonne. The Green sling is physically thicker and stronger. Always check the colour and the blue data label before lifting to ensure you have the correct strap for the load.
Can I use this sling for vehicle towing?
Yes, the 2 Tonne sling is very popular for towing cars or securing loads because it is strong but soft (won't scratch the bumper). However, for recovery (snatching/yanking out of mud), you should use a kinetic rope or a strap with a much higher safety rating to handle the shock load.
What is the capacity if I "choke" the load?
If you loop the sling through itself (Choke Hitch) to grip a bundle of pipes or timber, the capacity is reduced to 80%. For this 2 Tonne sling, the maximum safe load in a choke hitch is 1,600kg.
Can I use this sling in a basket hitch to lift 4 Tonnes?
Yes. If you cradle the load (Basket Hitch) with both eyes on the hook and the sling legs vertical, the capacity doubles to 4,000kg. This is a great way to lift heavier loads safely using lighter gear.
