10 Tonne Flat Duplex Webbing Sling (Orange)
The Rydam 10 Tonne Flat Duplex Webbing Sling is engineered for heavy industrial lifting operations. Capable of lifting 10,000kg in a straight pull or up to 20,000kg in a basket hitch, this sling is the professional choice for moving heavy plant machinery, steel structures, and shipping containers.
Built for Heavy Duty Use
- 10 Tonne Capacity: Fully dyed in international standard Orange for immediate identification of its 10,000kg Working Load Limit (WLL).
- High-Strength Construction: Manufactured from high-tenacity polyester (PES) with a Duplex (Double-Ply) weave, offering exceptional strength-to-weight ratio compared to heavy chain slings.
- Reinforced Lifting Eyes: The becket eyes are reinforced with high-durability fabric to resist the intense friction generated by large crane hooks and shackles.
- 7:1 Safety Factor: Strictly tested and manufactured to BS EN 1492-1:2000 standards, ensuring maximum safety for your team and cargo.
Do I need edge protection for a 10 Tonne lift?
Yes, absolutely. While polyester is durable, a 10,000kg load puts immense pressure on the sling. If lifting loads with sharp corners (like steel beams or machined parts), you must use protective sleeves or corner protectors. A sharp edge under 10t of tension can cut through webbing instantly.
Why is the sling Orange?
In the lifting industry, Orange indicates that the sling has a Working Load Limit (WLL) of 10 Tonnes or higher. This is an international colour-coding standard to help riggers quickly identify that this is a high-capacity strap, preventing dangerous confusion with lower-rated slings.
Can I use this sling to lift 20 Tonnes?
Only if used in a Basket Hitch configuration (where the sling is passed under the load and both eyes are on the hook). In this specific setup, the capacity doubles to 20,000kg. However, in a straight vertical lift, you must never exceed the 10,000kg limit.
How often should I inspect this sling?
For heavy lifting gear, we recommend a visual inspection before every single use. Look for cuts, tears, chemical damage, or damaged stitching. Under LOLER regulations, it must also receive a thorough examination by a competent person at least every 6 months.
